Motorcyclist Killed In Fatal Crash On I-81 Ramp ID'd: PSP

A 28-year-old motorcyclist from Shippensburg died in a crash that closed an Interstate 81 ramp in Hampden Township on Saturday, Nov. 16, according to Pennsylvania State Police and PennDOT spokesperson Fritzi Schreffler.

Mangal Rai was identified as the victim of the single-vehicle incident, which occurred around 6:45 a.m. on the southbound ramp to Route 581 Eastbound at Exit 59 (Route 581/Route 11/Camp Hill), police said.

According to investigators, Rai "under-compensated the left curve in the road," crossed into the right shoulder, and struck a metal guard rail on his 2023 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle.

Emergency crews responded to the scene, and the ramp was closed for several hours before reopening later that day.
